MI PRESENTO! :D

Ciao a tutti!

Dear host family,First of all I want to thank you for reading myletter in which I want to introduce myself and tell you something about myfamily, friends, hobbies and everyday life, in other words I would like toexplain who I am...not so simple!  Also Iwould like to thank you for your hospitality and because you are going to pickme as a member of your family, as a temporary "daughter". I’m soexcited to get to know a new culture and new people and I'm truly gratefulbecause I will get this chance mainly thanks to you. I hope this letter willhelp you getting a first impression of me even though I know that it's veryhard understand a person by some words.I can start saying that my name is Serena, Ihave just turned fifteen the past September and that I live in Bari a city inthe south of Italy. My name in Italian means "Peace" or"Tranquility" and for this reason I like thinking that I carry withme happiness and serenity. It is quite true because I consider myself a very honestand sincere person, I hate having arguments and I always try to solve everythings with diplomacy. I am very independent and mature as matter of fact Iusually take my decision in autonomy listening of course the advice of myparents and friends. I really like helping others and being useful, I am quitesociable and friendly but sometimes being shy stops me. I am very creative andoriginal, I love drawing, cooking, painting and everything that needscreativity. In my opinion an adjective that can describe myself completely is"optimistic", in fact I am always joyful because I try to find inevery situation or person the positive aspects. My family consists in my mother, my father , my little sister and me. I have avery good relationship with all the members of my family. We usually do a lotof things together - going to the cinema, going shopping, doing a picnic orsimple having a walk. Our relationship is based on reciprocal trust , as matterof fact, both my parents give me a lot of autonomy and they make me participantof every family decision. I have a wonderful relationship with my sister, hername is Daniela and she is twelve. We are very united but at the same time verydifferent- she is more sensitive and I am stronger. I surmise that I shouldtalk about my tasks at home, I have to be sincere, I am not very collaborative,I just tidy my room, set the table and sometimes cook and of course feed Lea.In fact I have forgotten to talk about the last member of my family, my lovelycat. In general I love all the animals but specially cats and dogs.
Now I would like to come to my interests. I like so many things, whichare very different. In summer I like going sailing with my friends because mycity, Bari, is near the sea. During the rest of the years I love spend my sparetime reading, I can read for hours, and also staying with my friends. Togetherwe do a lot things, from cooking to playing cards. We usually go out onlyduring the weekend for a walk in downtown, or for a special dinner, as matterof fact every Saturday we try new traditional food, for example Chinese,Japanese or Thai, but of course the best is Italian! Also I have played pianofor three years, and it is one of my favorite activities, I go to lesson once aweek and I believe that playing an instrument is a fabulous stress reliever butI am incredibly nervous about playing piano in front of people, even my family.Since I was eleven I play volleyball, I am not very good but I usually have agreat time when I play whit my teammates and as matter of fact I love teamsports. I also love travelling; it is my all-time favorite activity. When I wasstill a small child, I traveled with my parents across Europe. We visited somany cities; like Krakow in Poland, Prague in Czech Republic, Barcelona inSpain, Paris in France and so on. My favorite place is Amsterdam, with itsfabulous canals and views. One of my goals in life is to travel all over theworld!Since I was twelve I have dreamt to go one year abroad as an exchange student  because on one side I would like to make newexperiences, get to know new people , get better language skills and also becauseit could bring me better chances for my professional path, on the other side I wouldlike to became more independent and mainly self-confident. I would like tolearn more about your life, your country and your culture to break down thetrumpets that the difference will raise if we do not have the awareness of therichness that the meeting of more cultures gives us. Now I would like to tell yousomething about my vision of the future. After my year abroad I will finish myschool, and then I would like to start university to studying medicine becausethe main goal of this kind studies is to help others, as matter of fact, afterthe university I would  like to join someassociations like "Emergency" or "Doctors without borders".Iwould be so glad and grateful if you would let me be a part of your family!I hope I’ll see you soon .

Sincerely,                                                                                                                                                                          Serena Dibari  P.S. I am sorry for all the grammar mistakes that I have certainly donein this letter! In fact I also hopeto improve my English or to learn a new language.
